Week 10:

lbs lost this week: 3

Lbs lost total: 25

This one didn’t feel much like a victory.  I guess my postpartum depression has morphed into nausea and other unpleasantries, so I’m more on the Romey and Michelle diet train this week.  ugh.

Holla! Now the true challenge of balancing work, family, and fitness begins. I got this.

Week 8:

Lbs lost this week: 0
Lbs lost total: 20

Honestly, I’m just glad I didn’t gain 5 lbs because this week sucked. I felt ridiculous fatigue and the beginnings of returning to work anxiety and I may have treated myself to my favorite Mexican restaurant and not said no to the chips, refried beans or wine…

I felt so bad last week that I even took a pregnancy test, just in case! (negatory on the pregatory) and I went to see my dr, who said I only have “an attitude problem”. Ugh. Oh well, that week is over and this one is going to be awesome. I am willing it so.

Week 7:

Lbs lost this week: 4
Lbs lost total: 20!

Yay! I’m pretty sure my last weeks weigh in was jacked up due to a large consumption of wine the previous night and so I didn’t really lose 4 this week, more like 2+2, but whatevs. This week I’m really happy about this loss because I have been eating more like south beach phase 2.5, which is much more sustainable for my husband and me. I have also started my back to work workout routine to get into the habit since I am going back to work next week.

Back to work workout:
4 days a week: kinect fitness games (7pm after baby is asleep)
2 days a week: running 4 miles (weekend-beach and back)
1 day a week: rest

On another happy note, I set a personal record on my run this morning! I’m now in the 11minute mile range for all 4 miles. My goal is 10 ish.

Week 6

Lbs lost this week: 0
Lbs lost total: 16

Hrumph and keep going…

Today may be good.
1. I squeezed my ass into my pre-pregnancy jeans
2. Cutting half my hair off
3. Eyebrow threading on the menu

Yay for taking care of myself!

Week 5:

Lbs lost this week: 1
Lbs lost total: 16

I was dreading stepping on the scale this morning because I was feeling super bloated after a weekend of “cheating”. I dont really like to say cheating because I believe in everything in moderation, and I didn’t make the worst voices ever, but I did go over my calories by a couple hundred for 2 consecutive days leading up to a weigh in, plus it wasn’t the cleanest eating ever. I’m still pretty proud of myself considering I ran 4 miles each day and opted for healthier choices even on my cheat foods (whole wheat on sandwich, guacamole with chips instead of the whole 7 layer Super Bowl situation)

I did Jenny Craig for a few years when I lived alone and it was super convenient, affordable (for a single working lady) and I lost the same 30 lbs about 3 times over a course of a few years on and off. One bad habit I got into though was taking it to an extreme on weigh in day. I would go on Thursday after work and so I would limit my water and food all day and even try to go to the bathroom before I went. The weigh in would be all I thought about all day and then when it was over, I would treat myself with food. For a million reasons, this was a major mind sabotage and eventually, caught up with me.

This time around, I made my weigh in day Monday to keep me on track on the weekends, but I’ve also made a conscious effort not to obsess or starve leading up to the weigh in. I’ve lost what I’ve lost and I’ve gained what I’ve gained, and I am dedicated to making healthy decisions at every point in the week no matter how far or close to weigh in it is.

That being said, I’m pretty proud of that pound that is gone.

February!

Yay!  It’s February and if you are still at your new year’s resolutions, then YOU ARE AWESOME.  You are definitely not one of those January only health conscious types.

Do your damn thing.

My four month old suddenly, in past few days, gives me hell about nursing on my right, unless he’s half asleep. He has never really discriminated before, and I’ve always had supply issues, particularly that breast, so I’m worried.

My husbands suggestion? “maybe you should think about not…

Maybe try pumping the boob he doesn’t drink to keep the supply up? Pumping actually ended up increasing my supply a little bit for a while. I feel your pain on so many levels. Good luck!

Sleep regression?

plussizepreggo:

My son has slept 5-8 hours straight every night, with very few exceptions, since he was about a month old. He turned 4 months on Thursday, and that very night he started waking up every 45 minutes to hour and a half. I’ve slept 12 hours in the past 4 nights.

I’m at my wits end.

I was in the same boat a couple of weeks ago. We weaned the pacifier + did “sleep lady shuffle” + he got a tooth, so I’m not sure what gave, but he’s sleeping 10-11 hrs again with minimal waking. Hang in there mama!

Week 4

Lbs lost this week: 4.5
Lbs lost total: 15

Yay! I thought for sure this was going to be an “eh” week since I have been slowly incorporating more carbs (south beach phase 2) and I also had a cheat day on Friday with homemade pizza, but I guess it was just keeping my metabolism guessing??

I go back to work in 3.5 weeks, so I’m really hoping to keep knocking it out of the park. Lord knows teenagers notice EVERYTHING about what I’m looking like (including the infamous day my hair straightener broke and I went to school with my natural crazy curls) anyway, I know it would feel good to look fitter when I go back than when I left. Plus I want to get a good head start in anticipation of all the stress of balancing work, cooking, cleaning, baby, fitness, life!

Finally got around to making some progress inspiration crafts! Martini glasses it is! Also, each bead is worth a half a pound so I can celebrate all kinds of scale victories, even half a pound at a time. Next week: must find time to measure so I can celebrate some non scale wins too.

Unfortunately I missed my cardio class this morning because my beautifully stubborn baby refused to take a nap.

Fortunately after he finally fell asleep, I was able to RUN my first solo 5k post bundle of joy, and it felt AWESOME!

Here’s to more time and more running!

Week 3:

Lbs lost this week: 3
Lbs lost total: 10.5

I was so scared to get on the scale this morning because even though I ate well and exercised hard, there was that whole business about 2 margaritas and a bottle and a half of wine (spread out across the week). But, HOORAY! 3 lbs is awesome! I feel like I’m hitting my stride. It’s only week 3, but I’m in it to win it long term. Hope your upcoming week is successful; I know mine will be by sheer will.

I have officially logged EVERYTHING I have eaten in 2012 using the Lose It App. Even next to going to the gym on weekdays and staying active with my family on weekends, I think the food journal thing is keeping me the most accountable. Must. Keep. It. Up.
